Two people killed, one seriously injured Saturday in west central Minnesota intersection crash

Sep. 25—EAST LAKE LILLIAN TOWNSHIP — Both drivers are dead following a crash Saturday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 7 between Lake Lillian and Cosmos, and a passenger was seriously injured.

August Faber, 86, of Lake Lillian, was driving a 2021 Ford Edge westbound on Highway 7, and Jacob Thomas Dahlheimer, 35, of Faribault, Minnesota, was driving a 2019 GMC Yukon southbound on 195th Street Southeast when the vehicles collided at the intersection, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Both men died from their injuries in the crash reported at 4:32 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Both airbags deployed, but neither was wearing a seat belt. Road conditions were dry, and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the report.

Gertrude Faber, 83, of Lake Lillian, a passenger in the Ford, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with life-threatening injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

Assisting at the crash scene in East Lake Lillian Township of Kandiyohi County were the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Lake Lillian Fire Department and Ambulance, Cosmos Fire Department, Life Link Helicopter, and Hutchinson Ambulance.
