Two people killed in Tinton Falls crash identified

TINTON FALLS – Authorities have released the names of the two people killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Asbury Avenue and Shafto Road in the borough Thursday evening.

Regina Freeman, 52, of Brick Township died at the scene and Michael Lorenzo, 36, of Manalapan succumbed to his injuries shortly after being taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Mark Spivey, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, said Monday.

No one else was in the vehicles.

First responders went to the scene about 7 p.m., finding a 2021 Audi S6, driven by Lorenzo, and a 2005 Ford Freestyle SUV, operated by Freeman, Spivey said.

Details on how the collision happened have not been provided. The investigation is ongoing, Spivey said.
