‘Two can play at this game.’ NC Sen. Tillis posts video tearing articles of impeachment

Sen. Thom Tillis, a Republican from North Carolina, posted a video on social media of him tearing the articles of impeachment after the Senate voted to acquit President Donald Trump.

The video comes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore up her copy of Trump’s speech after the State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Earlier that night, Trump didn’t shake Pelosi’s outstretched hand as he climbed the House rostrum, the Associated Press reports.

“Two can play this game, @SpeakerPelosi,” Tillis tweeted along with the video. “Glad to finally put impeachment in the rear view mirror so we can get back to work for the people of North Carolina.”

The video shows him tear the articles of impeachment with music playing in the background. He then drops the two halves he was holding.

The video had been viewed more than 94,000 times on Twitter as of Wednesday evening.

Tillis, along with North Carolina Republican Sen. Richard Burr, voted not guilty on both articles of impeachment, The News & Observer reported Wednesday.

The Senate voted 52-48 to acquit the president of abuse of power and 53-47 to acquit him of obstruction of Congress, The News & Observer reports.

Tillis is up for reelection this year, The News & Observer reported.
