“Being selected for the Legacy Bowl is a great opportunity not just for me to showcase my talent, but for my family, kids and all my supporters,” Grunshie said in a press release. “I am excited to play against the best of the best and make a major impact for my future career, but most importantly have fun playing the game I love.”

Grunshie transferred to Savannah State from Virginia University of Lynchburg ahead of the 2021 season. The Reston, Virginia, native recorded 32 tackles last season, including 3.0 for a loss, with two interceptions and three breakups. He was a key member of a Tigers team that recorded the first eight-win season in the football program since 1994.

“Marvin led by example this year and played at a high level,” SSU defensive coordinator Thomas Sims said in the press release. “He’s an excellent teammate and an excellent football player.”
