Two Rescued From Sea Off Tenerife After Being Swept Away by Wave

Two people were rescued from the sea off Tenerife after being swept away by a wave on January 2, according to local authorities.

A statement on the incident posted on the website of the Government of the Canary Islands said two people got into difficulty at 11:22 am. “Other people who were in the place jumped into the water and helped those affected to reach an area of ​​rocks,” the statement said.

An injured man was taken away by stretcher, while a woman was winched to safety by a helicopter, the statement added. Both were reported to be suffering from minor lacerations at the time of the rescue, although there had not been an update on their condition since.
