Two new restaurants joining The Station in Dublin, and what’s replacing the IGA

It’s clear Dublin has experienced a concerted revitalization over the past four years.

And it isn’t over yet — not even close.

In addition to efforts to reopen the Dublin Diner, at least two more restaurants are on the way. Changes are also coming to the shopping center. And that’s not all.

Here’s what you can expect:

Goldie’s Grill closed. What will take its place?

Goldie’s Grill — which has been serving up grilled classics like hamburgers, cheesesteaks, wings and fries at The Station — closed Sunday.

“With the Dublin Diner coming back, there’s no need for Goldie’s to exist,” said manager Ben Krauss in a video posted to Instagram earlier this month.

In its place, two new eateries are set to join The Station: Manhattan Bagel and Little Devils.

“Don Bradley of Manhattan Bagel and his wife Stephanie have teamed up with the Hugill family and chef Bob Marchesano, the masterminds behind Mom’s in Doylestown and Devils Acre in Plumsteadville, to bring an innovative concept to The Station,” announced Dublin Town Center in a Facebook post.

“This new hybrid eatery will offer a selection of delicious Manhattan Bagel favorites in the morning and a delectable dinner menu in the evening from Little Devils, an outpost of Devils Acre.”

Bradley, who owns two other locations in Chalfont and Lansdale, said he is aiming for a soft opening of Manhattan Bagel in early October.

“To be able to open in Dublin is pretty special. Being in The Station, is really cool and what they’ve done is awesome,” he said. “There’s a need there for breakfast and coffee, a meeting spot. This will allow it to be an all-day facility now where people in the community can come to all day.”

While the two businesses will operate separately, Bradley said he looks forward to joining The Station with Little Devils.

“It’s an honor to be going into this space with the Hugill family who have two of the finest restaurants in Bucks County and Chef Marchesano. We share not only a friendship, but the same business ethos in our desire to build a greater sense of community in Dublin where they also live,” he said.

The Station, a conversion of the old Dublin Service Station and Garage into a food and drink market, is also home to Neshaminy Creek Brewing, Taqueria Tlaxcali, Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream and Itri Wood Fired Pizza.

An opening date for Little Devils has not been announced.

Ace Hardware coming to Dublin shopping center

The Dublin IGA, one of the last locally owned grocery stores in Bucks County, is closing after 40 years in business.
The Dublin IGA, one of the last locally owned grocery stores in Bucks County, is closing after 40 years in business.

On Friday, Dublin Town Center was finalizing paperwork to take over ownership of Dublin Village Plaza, said Garis, with plans in place for Ace Hardware to take over the space formerly occupied by the Dublin IGA, an independently owned grocery store that closed in 2021.

The shopping center is currently home to a PennDOT driver license center and several businesses, including Dollar General, QNB Bank, China Sun and San Diego II Mexican Grocery.

Upgrades underway at The Boiler Room

The Boiler Room, a wine bar by Crossings Vineyard located at The Square, will soon have a full-service kitchen.

Currently under construction, its full-service kitchen should be completed in a few months, according to Corinna Garis, marketing director for Nehemiah Development Company, the real estate developer behind the Dublin Town Center project.

Since opening in 2021, The Boiler Room’s wine and specialty cocktail offerings have been complemented by a small, yet intentional menu of light bites, such as its charcuterie board.

During construction of its kitchen, The Boiler Room will remain open, but customers hoping to eat are encouraged to bring their own food, according to its website.

When will the Dublin Diner reopen?

Dublin Diner is currently owned by Dublin Town Center, LP with plans to continue the longtime landmark’s reign as a diner. It has been vacant since closing its doors in 2020.

In the latest update from Garis, final numbers are still being negotiated with the diner’s new operator, but they are hopeful for a grand opening in late Spring.

Could fine dining be coming to Dublin?

In addition to the changes inside The Station and the reopening of the diner, there could be another new restaurant joining Dublin’s growing dining scene.

Just before ending the video announcing the closure of Goldie’s Grill, Krauss teased out one more bit of news, eluding to more changes on the way.

“There’s no other place in Dublin right now for a sit-down fine dining restaurant, but not for long,” he said. Krauss could not be reached for further comment.
