Russian missiles struck two locations in Kharkiv in the early hours of the morning on Dec. 20, Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on Telegram.

“Initially, there were at least two hits in one of Kharkiv's most affected areas, near residential buildings and civilian objects,” Terekhov wrote.

Rescue teams from the State Emergency Service were already working at the scene, according to his statement. Information about casualties and damages is still being verified.

The Air Force had warned of the threat of ballistic weapons in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovograd oblasts, prompting air raid alerts across these locales in the early hours of Dec. 20.
