Two Russian sea captains charged with smuggling Ukrainian grain
In a Telegram messenger post on Sept. 8, prosecutors said that according to their investigation, the captains of the Russian-flagged vessels carried out six illegal calls and exits from the closed Sevastopol sea trade port.

It is also established the suspects ensured the loading of ships with grain illegally exported by Russian representatives from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as its transportation to third countries.
Being aware of the illegality of their actions, the captains periodically turned off their ships’ AIS Automatic Identification Systems and entered false information that their ships were bound for Russian ports, and not to the closed sea ports of Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea.
The suspects are charged with violating the procedure for entering and leaving the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea (Part 2 of Article 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
