Two Sacramento County school buses, with students on board involved in collisions Thursday

Two Elk Grove Unified School District buses were involved in collisions early Thursday in the Vineyard area, the California Highway Patrol said.

The first collision was at the corner of Sienna Sand and Night Sail drives around 7 a.m. in the Vineyard area. The bus collided with another vehicle, said Officer Mark Leavitt, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office.

One student was on the bus and no one was injured, Leavitt said.

The second collision was at the intersection of Morning Hill Street and Hopyard Way, about a mile north of the first collision.

Four students were on board the bus at the time of the crash and no one was injured, Leavitt said.

“At this point, it is unknown who is at fault,” he said.

“We can confirm that there was a minor accident involving an EGUSD school bus this morning,” said Lisa Levasseur, executive director of school support communications at EGUSD. “No one was injured and all students were able to get to school.”
