Two seriously injured in four-car collision in southern Walton County

SANTA ROSA BEACH — Two people were seriously injured in a traffic crash near the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and County Road 283 on Thursday afternoon, according to a South Walton Fire District post on Facebook.

According to the post, the crash involved four vehicles and has caused significant traffic delays in the area. The injured people were taken from the scene by Advanced Life Support units and the Walton County Sheriff's Office is providing traffic control.

East and westbound lanes are open, but traffic is delayed. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution in the area and allow remaining law officers plenty of room to work.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
