One killed, one with life-threatening injuries after KCK shooting

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — One person was killed and another suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday night in Kansas City, Kansas, police say.

Just after 6 p.m. KCK police received several calls of shots fired at a gas station near 18th Street and Parallel Parkway.

While they were in route, someone flagged down an officer, saying that someone was shot. First responders took that man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A second victim was also found and pronounced dead, police said. He has been identified as 19-year-old Sergio Ramirez, of KCK.

Details about what led up to the shooting were not immediately available. Police have not released any information on the deceased victim’s identity.

KCK police were also on scene across the street from the gas station due to stray bullets located.
