Minerva’s Roxy Theatre will play host to two special programs in April, with a music festival planned Friday and a comedy show set April 28.

Fans of Ohio-based music will enjoy the music festival, which will run 6 to 10 a.m. Friday and will feature a tribute to late rocker Michael Stanley.

Stark County musician Eric Brooke will lead the Stanley tribute, and other performers Friday will include T Free and the Panic Attacks, with guests Devin Bezeredi, Louie Pilati and Randy Neff, along with Josee McGee and Dick Rutledge.

Admission for the concert is free, and donations to the Roxy are welcomed.

Comedian Pete George will appear at the Roxy at 7:30 p.m. April 28, in a show co-sponsored by the Roxy and Krackpots Comedy Club of Massillon.

George also is a musician, performing in the 1980s in Cleveland alternative rock group Separate Checks.

During shows, he used humor to banter with audiences, and turned it into a standup career.

He has headlined at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and the House of Blues and Hard Rock Casino in Cleveland.

Tickets are general admission, with a limited number of front row and VIP seats, and can be purchased online at eventbrite.com.

Restaurants in Downtown Minerva will be open throughout both events, with concessions and a food truck available at the theater for the comedy show. The village’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. during both events. Patrons may purchase beverages in official DORA cups from the Normandy Inn, Stoney Inn, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant and Sandy Springs Brewing Company and carry them throughout the designated area, including into the Roxy.
