Feel the soul as legendary divas Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight join for a show at Ironstone Amphitheatre.

Also on the entertainment slate for July 29 to Aug. 4 in the Modesto region are medium Theresa Caputo and a pair of musical productions.

Soul legends Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight bring their respective music to the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys.

LaBelle, dubbed the Queen of Rock and Soul, has hits including “Lady Marmalade,” “When You Talk About Love,” “New Attitude,” “If Only You Knew” and “On My Own.”

Known as the Empress of Soul, Knight’s hits include “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me,” “I’ve Got to Use My Imagination” and “Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye).”

The star of the TLC show “The Long Island Medium” brings her “Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience” to the Gallo Center in Modesto. Caputo says she can communicate with those who have died and deliver messages to audience members. Only limited tickets were available at press time.

“Central Valley”

The State Theatre in Modesto will screen a movie written, produced and starring a locally reared filmmaker, “Central Valley.” Travis Ross’ film is about growing up in Santa Nella and Newman and was shot in the region. “When his younger brother suddenly passes away, Tim, a 35-year-old drug peddler who has never been able to take care of himself properly, must decide what to do with his 10-year-old nephew: let him go into foster care, or rise to the occasion and straighten his life out,” according to the theater’s website.

Prospect production

This is your last chance to catch Prospect Theater Project’s “Water By the Spoonful.” The company presents a story of boundaries of family and community stretched across continents in this 2012 Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

SRT’s kids production

Sierra Repertory Theatre presents the musical “Disney’s Frozen Jr.,” featuring school-age performers. The adaption is based on the 2013 animated film and the 2018 Broadway production. The SRT cast includes 43 students and the show includes the songs “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go.”
