Southlake police ID students who wrote shooting threat on Carroll High bathroom stall door

The Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School campuses in Southlake were closed on Wednesday as police investigated a message written on a bathroom stall door that referred to a state test and a school shooting.

In an update Wednesday night, Southlake police said they have identified the students responsible for writing the threatening message.

“After a thorough investigation, officers have determined there is no credible threat to students or public safety,” Southlake police wrote in a statement.

Since no credible threat was found, the two high schools will be open for normal operations on Thursday, Carroll ISD officials said.

The involved students are juveniles and police do not plan to release further details.

The Southlake Police Department said that on Tuesday night it received via the school district’s alert system an anonymous report about the potential threat at Carroll High School connected to STAAR, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness.

No specific target was identified and no other details were in the message.

After-school activities at the two high school campuses were canceled on Wednesday.

All other district campuses were open.
