Two new stores are open and busy with holiday shoppers at Gulfport Premium Outlets

Holiday shoppers are finding their way to two new stores open at Gulfport Premium Outlets.

Southern Marsh features collections of fashions for men, women and youths, and Adidas Clearance Store has shoes and clothing at big discount prices.

The stores are next to each other and close to Coach, said Pamela Meinzinger, manager of Gulfport Premium Outlets.

Both stores are new to the outlets and the brands. Gulfport is the second outlet for Southern Marsh, which opened the first at Baton Rouge and is looking at opening more, said Stacy Richars, retail director.

This is the first clearance store for Adidas and with this concept, “We are always on sale,” said Alyssa Davis, store manager. Savings of 60% or better mean customers can find $5 T-shirts and $12 shoes, she said. It also means it’s possible that if a product is sold out online, “I have it at 60% off in my store,” she said.

Sales of Adidas shoes, clothing and accessories like water bottles and backpacks have been brisk, Davis said. The store gives an extra discount to members of the military, teachers and first responders in the community..

Southern Marsh opened recently at the Gulfport outlets, and Richars said, “Business has been incredible.”

She’s been helping to open the new store and said she’s had 30 or more people stop her to tell about their experience.

“I bought what I bought in the store today because of the customer service,” they tell her. It’s Southern hospitality, she said, and customers are offered water and a place to sit.

They also get a 30% discount, and sales of $125 or more get an additional 15% off.

The brand is inspired by the South and is “known for its unique culture, beautiful people and timeless dress,” according to the website

One line of clothing is “Game Day Ready.” Another is “Seawash,” which Richars says “are much softer than our regular T-shirts.”

The fabric is a blend that washes well and doesn’t shrink. “You can’t mess them up,” she said.

Women’s Sunday Morning sweaters are the most popular fashions in the store, she said, since they are cozy and comfortable all year in the South. Once they discover these sweaters, women who come in to shop for Christmas gifts decide to get one for themselves, she said.

Gulfport Premium Outlets is on U.S. 49, just south of exit 34.
