ONTARIO — The retail shopping strip along Lexington-Springmill Road is getting two new stores.

Mayor Randy Hutchinson said Ross Dress For Less, a discount department store for men, women and children, already has people working inside the store in Springfield Square Shopping Center in the space vacated by Staples office supply store.

Hutchinson said Shoe Department Encore will be moving in next to Harbor Freight, also in the Springfield Square Shopping Mall.

Earlier, Bed Bath and Beyond announced it will be closing its doors shortly at the Ontario Town & Country Shopping Center on Walker Lake Road.

Old Navy clothing store is set to move from its 2166 W. Fourth St. location to Walker Lake Road in May into the Bed, Bath & Beyond building when it closes.

An Old Navy spokesperson, in an emailed statement Friday, said, "Shifts like this are part of our ongoing real estate strategy that supports the best path forward and our Gap Inc. Power Plan 2023."
