These two Tazewell County communities led the way for most expensive homes sold in July

While Morton continued to be a mainstay of the monthly round-up, Pekin was a leading community for upscale home-buyers last month.

The two communities each had four of the 10 most expensive homes sold in Tazewell County in July. Washington and Groveland accounted for the other two homes on the list.

10.  220 Hickory Lane, Pekin

Built in 2006 on a one-acre wooded lot in Pekin’s Hickory Hills subdivision, this 3,708-square-foot home contains three bedrooms and five baths. Features include open plan Prairie-style architecture, a large entertaining deck wired for a hot tub, a four-stall garage, a heated and cooled workshop and a partially finished walk-out basement.

The home was listed with Adam Merrick Real Estate and was sold July 20 for $420,000.

Keller Williams Premier Realty listed the property, which was sold July 31 for $425,000.

The home was July 18 for $437,000. Adam Merrick Real Estate was the listing realtor.

The home was sold July 21 through RE/MAX Traders Unlimited for $539,900.

The home was sold July 17 for $565,000 through Adam Merrick Real Estate.

3. 220 S. Rhode Island Ave., Morton

Built in 2002, the home offers 4,000 square feet of living space and features a two-tier deck, a heated pool, a quartz accented fireplace and a finished walk-out basement with a bar.

The property was sold July 6 for $610,000 through The Real Estate Group, Inc.

Listed with RE/MAX Traders Unlimited, the home was sold July 21 for $700,000.
