Two teens killed, two others injured in two-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed two teenagers and injured two others early Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokeswoman with the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department were called around 1:50 a.m. to a collision involving a 2022 Tesla and a semi-truck at the intersection of Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 20/59.

Taylor said the Tesla, which was occupied by four people, was found pinned underneath the truck’s trailer and the passengers were entrapped. The driver, a 17-year-old female from Tuscaloosa, and the front-seat passenger, an 18-year-old male from Uniontown, were pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old female from Montgomery was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries. A 17-year-old female from Marion was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Taylor said the Marion teen was listed in good condition Saturday morning.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the crash and is conducting the follow-upinvestigation.

No further information was made available.

A post on the Perry County School District Facebook account indicated that the female who died in the crash attended Paul W. Bryant High School and the man attended R. C. Hatch High School.
