Two teens sent to hospital after rollover crash Tuesday morning

Oct. 11—Two 15-year-old females were hospitalized with moderate injuries after being ejected in a rollover crash Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at 371 Highway at Southeast Barnett Road, four miles south of St. Joseph.

According to the crash report, the driver of the vehicle, who is from St. Joseph, was fixing her hair, allowing the passenger, who is from Agency, Missouri, to take control of the vehicle from the passenger side. The passenger then lost control of the vehicle, and the driver tried regaining control but overcorrected and traveled off the roadway, according to the crash report.

The vehicle overturned multiple times and then came to rest on its top. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle, according to the crash report.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident. They were transported to Mosaic Life Care by Buchanan County Ambulance. Troop H of the MSHP was assisted by the Buchanan Country Sheriff's Office at the scene.
