Two teens shot and wounded near their Williamsburg high school and a playground teeming with kids

A masked gunman shot two teenagers steps from their Williamsburg high school Monday afternoon, police sources said.

The 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were on Maujer St. near Humboldt St. at the Williamsburg Houses when the shooter targeted them around 3 p.m., according to cops.

The gunman, wearing a black ski mask, fired off multiple shots, striking the girl in the stomach and grazing the boy’s head.

A witness recalled hearing five shots.

“I’m on the floor, because a bullet ain’t got no name,” said Maggie, who declined to give her last name.

The shooter, who police described as male and wearing a red-and-black coat, took off on foot.

“Then I come out because I know first aid,” said Maggie, 62. “The cops were working on them because the paramedics weren’t there yet.”

The boy was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center and the girl to Kings County Hospital. They were both expected to survive.

The teens were gunned down about a half block from Grand Street Campus High School, where they are both students, police sources said.

The school went into lockdown following the gunfire, according to the Department of Education.

Evidence markers littered the courtyard of the Williamsburg Houses later Monday afternoon as police investigated the scene just steps from a playground.

“Here there was a lot of kids,” said Maggie. “Everybody scattered like roaches — mothers grabbing the kids, everything.”

Another neighbor said panicked children were “screaming and yelling” after the gunfire.

“I could see when the kids started running after the gunshots,” said Marquis Smith, 61.

The woman blamed shootings at the public housing complex on teenagers coming from the high school.

“These guns are out of control,” she said.

There were no immediate arrests as police worked to track down the gunman.
