Two Toms River men killed in Parkway crash in Wall

WALL - Two men were killed Sunday afternoon when a Jeep struck a Chevrolet SUV that was stopped in the northbound Garden State Parkway lanes near milepost 97.7, according to New Jersey State Police.

Jerome Digiovanni, 75, and Ronald Devingo, 57, both of Toms River, were killed when the two vehicles collided in the right lane around 1:31 p.m., State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said.

Digiovanni's Chevrolet Equinox was stopped in the right shoulder and right travel lane, with Devingo — Digiovanni's passenger — standing on the left side of the SUV, when both the vehicle and Devingo were struck by a northbound Jeep Wrangler, Curry said.

"As a result of the impact, both Digiovanni and Devingo sustained fatal injuries," the state trooper said.
