Two young musicians, Khrystyna Spitsyna and Svitlana Semeykina, were killed in the Russian missile strike on Zaporizhzhya on Aug. 9, the Matviivske Village Center for Culture and Leisure reported on Facebook on Aug. 10.

As a result of a missile strike by Russian terrorists on Zaporizhzhya, our talented girls, Svitlana Semeykina and Khrystyna Spitsyna, tragically lost their lives.”

“Just yesterday, they were singing and playing for people, and today, neither of them are with us anymore. The Russian missile ruthlessly took away their voices, their lives, and along with that, a part of the soul of every one of us.”

The two young women initially embarked on their musical journeys as solo artists but eventually united to form the duo known as Similar Girls.

“These young women believed in a vibrant and peaceful life under the Ukrainian flag. They believed in victory, and they were striving for it with their own strength. Therefore, now we must do it for them,” the center added.

The musicians were 19 and 21 years old respectively, and were both daughters of servicemen who are currently fighting on the Zaporizhzhya front.
