TwoCash5tickets sold in CT win more than $92K on Tuesday night drawing

Aug. 9—The winning numbers for the Aug. 8 drawing were as follows: 11-20-25-29-30.

The prize for matching the five winning numbers is $100,000, but the lottery notes that "actual prize payouts may be lower than published prize levels, based upon overall ticket sales for the game and actual number of winning tickets sold." For this reason, the two winning tickets sold in Connecticut will each receive a payout of $92,391.

The ticket holders must claim their prize in-person at the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill, as the the prize is larger than $5,000. Per the organization's website, ticket holders must provide two forms of signed identification, one of which must be a photo ID, to claim their winnings.

Winning ticket holders have 180 days following the drawing date to claim their prize, meaning this Cash5 prize will expire on Feb. 4, 2024. Cash5 drawings occur each night at approximately 10:29 p.m. the lottery said.

On Monday, a Mega Millions ticket worth $20,000 was sold in Connecticut, and the jackpot jumped to 1.5 billion — the largest in Mega Millions history. As of Tuesday night, the Mega Millions jackpot was reset to $20 million after a winning jackpot ticket was sold in Florida.
