Division I
Pilgrim 6, Moses Brown 0
Alyssa Twomey was perfect through 5 innings, striking out 13, and Gretchen Dombeck earned her first save as the Patriots collected 9 hits to cruise past Moses Brown. Pilgrim's Genna D'Amato paced the offense with 3 hits and a pair of RBIs. Anna Costello took the loss for the Quakers, going the distance and striking out 6.
BASEBALL
Division II
East Greenwich 7, Barrington 1
The Avengers opened the Division II season by defeating Barrington, 7-1. Senior Casey DeLorenzo stifled the Eagles. He went the distance and allowed four hits, one unearned run with only one walk and four strikeouts. Jack Lawson took the loss for Barrington.
Nonleague
Wheeler 17, CATS Academy 2
Grayson Sparr went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, a triple and 3 RBI and teammate Anand Heintz reached base four times with 3 hits and scored four runs in Wheeler's 17-2 victory over CATS in the in an EIL game shortened to five innings as a result of the 10-run rule. Starting pitcher Will Singer took advantage of the run support as he pitched all five innings and struck out 13 in the process.
BOYS LACROSSE
Division I
Barrington 16, Mount St. Charles 9
Jake Ignall scored four goals and assisted on another and Colin Hope had 3 goals and four helpers as the Eagles rolled to victory. Pat Murphy had four goals for the Mounties and Frank Ryan added 3 more tallies in the loss.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Division I
La Salle 3, East Greenwich 0 (25-21, 25-18, 26-24).
Ali Abdur-Razzack's 31 assists and 7 digs and Jack Johnson's 14 kills and 3 digs paved the way for the Ram's win over East Greenwich.
Division III
Scituate/Prout 3, North Providence 0 (25-23, 25-29, 25-28)
The play of Mason Brown (7 aces, 5 kills and 2 blocks), Declan Morrison (9 kills, 4 aces), and Porter Fisher (15 assists, 6 aces, 2 kills) helped Scituate/Prout upend North Providence.
Tolman/Shea 3, Mt. Pleasant 0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-14)
Domenic Carpentieri amassed 17 aces and dished off 10 assists, Dembo Konte recorded 6 kills and a block and Helmer Ramos had 4 kills and 2 aces to help pave the way for Toman/Shea's victory over Mt. Pleasant. The T/S JV team was also victorious (2-0).
