TWRA update: Crews find missing man's body at Percy Priest Lake in Nashville

Water rescue crews have found the body of a man who did not resurface after he was believed to have jumped into Percy Priest Lake in Nashville on Saturday afternoon.

The man reported missing is 25 years old, according to Barry Cross of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The TWRA initially reported the victim's age as 23. The man was not immediately identified in order to notify next of kin.

The missing person was reported Saturday around 3 p.m., Cross said. Authorities believe the man jumped into the water from a boat and did not resurface.

Nashville Fire Department crews on Saturday afternoon were initially called near the 4000 block of Bell Road, according to department personnel.

The search was conducted by the Office of Emergency Management and TWRA, according to fire department spokesperson Kendra Loney.

The body was discovered around 11 p.m., with OEM divers and the use of a remote operational vehicle, Cross said. OEM personnel deployed buoys to mark the location the man was last seen.
