Tyler man formerly on Texas DPS 10 Most Wanted sentenced to 50 years for 2021 murder

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — A Tyler man, who was placed on Texas DPS 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison in connection to a 2021 murder.

Dakevian Scroggins, 29, was sentenced to 50 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering Christopher Frank Eiglebiger. Officials said Eiglebiger was fatally shot in a home on Crosby Street on May 13, 2021.

Police arrested Zaccheus Dunn, 26, who was taken into custody two days later, in connection to the shooting. Last week, Dunn was found guilty of murdering Eiglebiger to 44 years in prison.

Scroggins was on the run for two months before being added to DPS’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, and was apprehended in July.
