Tyler veterans home awarded statewide honor
TYLER, Texas (KETK) – A local veterans home was one of only four to be honored by the state of Texas for their commitment to those who have served our nation.
Salvation Army of Lufkin awarded $100,000 grant to support veterans
On Wednesday, the Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, along with the Texas Veterans Land Board, announced Tyler’s Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home would get a prestigious honor.
They were awarded the 2024 Pinnacle Customer Experience Award, along with the following veterans homes in Texas:
Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home – El Paso
Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home – Amarillo
Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home – Bonham

The awards, given by Pinnacle Quality Insight, base the award off thousands of phone interviews with residents, patients and families, evaluating up to 16 service categories including communication, dignity, safety, food quality and more. Only those who score in the top 15% in each category gets an award.
