The National Weather Service is forecasting wind chills between minus 15 and minus 20 during the day on Saturday.

By the time the Chiefs and Dolphins kick off at 7 p.m. in their AFC Wild Card game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, it’ll be even colder. But one player said he won’t bundle up: Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill.

While chatting with reporters Thursday, Hill explained why he plans to keep his arms uncovered.

It’s a mindset, right?” Hill said. “I feel like, if you believe it’s gonna be cold, then you’re gonna freeze your (testicles) off. But if you go into this game like not even thinking about any of that, you’ll be fine.

“I played there, and I understand the conditions. I’m not even worried about it at all, so I’m gonna go out there with no sleeves and just tell the rest of the guys, ‘Hey, look, man, it’s a mindset. If those guys see you wearing sleeves, obviously they’re going to think you’re soft.’”

Let’s be honest, anyone playing outdoors on Saturday night won’t be soft. Ditto for those watching the game in the stands.

Hill, who was traded by the Chiefs to the Dolphins two years ago, will be making his first trip back to Arrowhead Stadium. But he’s already faced the Chiefs. That was in Frankfurt, Germany in November when the Chiefs defeated the Dolphins 21-14.

While he won’t be taking extra precautions in the cold, he promised to do some talking. In fact, he joked about former teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

“I haven’t texted Mahomes since they beat our ass. And I texted Kelce, he still hasn’t texted me back. He’s probably still on his Taylor Swift thing,” Hill said as reporters chuckled. “But yeah, man, those guys are too famous for me now, I guess. There hasn’t been no trash talk. But obviously when we get there face to face, we’ll be talking trash. So really looking forward to it.”

That trash-talking will be all in good fun and part of what will be a significant night for Hill. He’s trying to treat the Chiefs as simply another opponent, but realizes being back at Arrowhead for the first time since the trade will be a distinctive experience.

“Just another game man,” Hill told NFL.com. “I’m looking forward to it. Obviously, I’m very excited for it. I’m not looking forward to the cold, but to see old faces again and play inside of Arrowhead is going to be a special moment for myself. It’s going to be awesome.”
