U.S. 'addicted to quitting' treaties, after WHO withdraw: China

The comments were made by spokesman Zhao Lijian at the ministry's daily briefing.

Trump has accused the WHO of being a puppet of Beijing.

Since taking office, the president has quit several organizations and treaties including the U.N. Human Rights Council, the U.N. cultural agency UNESCO, the Paris accord to tackle climate change, and the Iran nuclear deal.

He's also replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement with the much tougher U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, and ended funding to the U.N. agency that aids Palestinian refugees.

His decision to withdraw the U.S. from the WHO came after China pledged $2 billion to the agency to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.
