U.S. Air Force Senior Airman shot, killed by Okaloosa County deputy: OCSO
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An armed man shot and killed by an Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputy on Friday was a U.S. Air Force Senior Airman, News 5 has learned.

The sheriff’s deputy, whose identity has not been released, shot U.S. Air Force Airman Roger Fortson, 23, on Friday at Chez Elan Apartments.
SHOOTING LOCATION:
Fortson died of his injuries, News 5 later learned.
According to Hurlburt Field, he was assigned to the 4th Special Operations Squadron and entered active duty on Nov. 19, 2019.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed that the airman’s death was connected to the previously reported officer-involved shooting death.
OCSO is leading the investigation into this shooting.
