U.S. Coast Guard searching for missing person after boat capsizes in Pensacola Bay

The United States Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office are searching for a missing person after a boat capsized in Pensacola Bay on Tuesday morning.

According to a press release, Coast Guard Sector Mobile command center watchstanders received a notification from Naval Air Station Pensacola security around 6:20 a.m. that a man swam to shore after his boat capsized, saying a person he was with is still missing.

"Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launches of a Coast Guard Station Pensacola 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew and a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to search for the missing boater," the release states.

The missing man is a 29-year-old male with black hair and was last seen wearing a camo jacket and jeans.
