U.S. marshal shot in downtown Phoenix, city councilman says
A U.S. marshal was stuck and wounded in a drive-by shooting outside a federal courthouse in downtown Phoenix on Tuesday, a city councilman said.
The federal cop was wearing a vest when he was struck in the chest outside the Sandra Day O’Connor Courthouse, and his injuries were not life-threatening, Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio said in a string of tweets shortly after noon local time.
The marshal returned fire at the vehicle before he was transported to a local hospital, DiCiccio tweeted.
DiCiccio said officers were searching for the suspect.
On social media, Phoenix cops shared an picture of a car they said they were seeking; the image showed a silver vehicle.
