U.S. Marshals capture alleged kidnapping suspect

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals apprehended alleged kidnapping suspect Joseph Brown on Monday.

The arrest stems from an incident on April 27, when Brown, 32, was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a woman.

Memphis Police responded to a call at the 3400 block of Grey Bark Drive regarding an abduction. A witness who was on the phone with the victim heard her shouting in distress before the call abruptly ended.

Woman found by police, alleged kidnapper still wanted

The victim was missing for most of the day but was found later that evening. Warrants for aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault were promptly issued for Brown’s arrest.

State files to remove County Clerk Wanda Halbert from office

On Monday, investigators from the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis located Brown at a residence on the 2600 block of Meadowbrook Drive in Horn Lake, Mississippi.

Brown was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Desoto County Detention Center, where he will await the extradition process back to Tennessee.
