U.S. Navy Concert Band performs in Kingsport

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – The United States Navy Band performed in Kingsport Saturday evening.

The concert was performed at the Eastman Employee Center located on 400 South Wilcox Drive.

The band has been performing public concerts and participating in events for more than 95 years.

The U.S. Navy Band wasn’t the only group to perform Saturday in Kingsport. They were joined by members of the Dobyns-Bennett High School Band.

United States Navy Chief Musician Jenny Stokes said one of their biggest outreach opportunities is to be able to talk to different students and play with different students around the country.

“It’s really an honor to get to play with them,” Stokes said. “We usually invited ten different students on different instruments up onto the hall.”

All Navy Band performances are free and open to the public.
