U.S. News 2020 High School Rankings: 7 In New Jersey In Top 100

NEW JERSEY — It is definitely one for the history books as high school students in the Garden State are experiencing education virtually due to the new coronavirus pandemic. Despite the alternative learning methods being implemented U.S. News & World Report has kept up its rankings, finding seven schools in New Jersey among the top 100 in the nation.

"The Best High Schools rankings provide the most comprehensive, data-based information on nearly every public high school in the country," Anita Narayan, managing editor of Education at U.S. News, said in a news release. "Families can use this information to see how their local schools compare on graduation rates and state assessments, as well as academic performance by students who are traditionally underserved — those who are black, Hispanic or from low-income households."

Here are the schools in New Jersey ranked by U.S. News in the top 100.

  1. Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies in Edison, #33 in National Rankings.

  2. Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, #46 in National Rankings.

  3. High Technology High School in Lincroft, #57 in National Rankings.

  4. Dr. Ronald E McNair High School in Jersey City, #63 in National Rankings.

  5. Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health in Woodbridge, #70 in National Rankings.

  6. Biotechnology High School in Freehold, #85 in National Rankings.

  7. Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, #93 in National Rankings.
