U.S. News and World Report ranks York in the top 10 places to retire

Retiring and moving to Florida may be the old standard, but Pennsylvania is unseating the Sunshine State as the favored place for new retirees, and York ranks near the top of the most popular cities.

According to a new report from U.S. News and World Report that ranked the best cities for retirees, seven cities in Pennsylvania made the top 10. Factors that went into creating the report included housing affordability, quality and accessibility of healthcare, overall happiness, weather and the cost of goods compared to the national average.

York came in at number seven.

9: Youngstown, Oh.

8: Daytona Beach, Fla.

7: York, Pa.

6: New York City

5: Allentown, Pa.

4: Scranton, Pa.

3: Lancaster, Pa.

2: Reading, Pa.

1: Harrisburg, Pa.
