U.S. Olympic climbers heading for the world stage

LOCATION: TOKYO, JAPAN

Climbers will soon be competing on the world stage

For the first time their sport is part of the Olympic line-up

Tokyo 2020 is due to take place this summer after being delayed

Team USA will be sending four young climbers

"We didn't grow up with the dream of climbing being in the Olympics. Because it wasn't there yet. And so when it did become a reality, it absolutely was my goal. Now sitting here as a team of four athletes going, I think that's really cool and it just shows how much we've improved as USA Climbing. And I can't wait for more people to be introduced to climbing as it's on this world stage."

Climbing will feature three categories

Lead, speed, and bouldering
