U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan opens new district office in Reading

May 10—U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan has settled into her new Reading district office.

The Chester County Democrat, who represents part of Berks County, has made the move from City Hall to the Gateway Building at 201 Penn St. The new location is now open to constituents seeking assistance.

Houlahan said the relocation was intended to make accessing services more convenient, noting the new space in Suite 201 in the building is twice the size of her former office and more centrally located for residents of her district.

"I'm thrilled to share that our new office in Reading is open for business," Houlahan said. "My teams in Reading and West Chester have done a great job helping our Reading office relocate from City Hall to Penn Street, and I'm so thankful for their hard work. This new office space will allow us to expand our work serving the city and the surrounding area of Berks County."

She said the new space has some other benefits as well. It will offer better parking opportunities with a large garage nearby and share the same building as many local federal agency offices such as the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service.

The new office will be open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Staff members can be reached at 610-295-0815 and by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Constituent services encompass a wide array of activities like helping residents who are having trouble working with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Internal Revenue Service or any other federal agency. It also includes providing assistance for those seeking passports, immigration documents, service academy nominations and tours of Washington landmarks.
