U.S. health officials said Monday they saw no new cases of the coronavirus in the United States overnight BUT The Centers for Disease Control MONDAY said 110 people are under investigation in 26 states.

On Sunday, there were five confirmed cases in the U.S., and the fears of economic fallout from the deadly virus sent global markets south Monday.

Officials said that the immediate health risk to the general American public is low.

The director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Nancy Messonnier, said travel recommendations related to the coronavirus will change in coming days. Last week, the U.S. recommended that people avoid all nonessential travel to Wuhan in China, the epicenter of the outbreak.

"I expect there will be a decision and announcement about that within the next day but I can't give you a time because I want to make sure that we're being expedient and sensible about what kind of recommendations we're making."

Also on Monday: President Donald Trump offered China - in his words - "any help that is necessary" - to control the coronavirus outbreak that has killed 81 people.
