U.S. Ukraine aide Holmes arrives for deposition on Trump call

David Holmes, an aide to U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor, arrived at Congress on Friday (November 15) ahead of a closed-door deposition during which he was expected to recount hearing a July 26 telephone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and the U.S. envoy to the European Union Gordon Sondland.

In the call, Trump asked Sondland about progress in getting the Ukrainians to do two investigations that would benefit the Republican president politically, Taylor testified on Wednesday (November 13).
