UAH History Lecturer discusses importance of remembering all history, good and bad

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — February is Black History Month, a time to concentrate on that portion of American history.

Dr. John Mohr is a lecturer in the University of Alabama Huntsville’s (UAH) history department. His specialty is the modern south, and the history that got us to where we are now.

Mohr says it’s important to remember all our history. The good, the bad and the uncomfortable.

“By looking back honestly, we can all become better informed. We can all kind of work toward a more inclusive vision, right. You know, getting everybody’s history, and understanding that it’s all part and parcel. Right?  It’s not inseparable, each part is an indivisible part of the whole,” Mohr says.

There’s a lot ground covered in this week’s Leadership Perspectives interview with Dr. Mohr, and you can see the full interview in the video player at the top of the page.
