UCF football game against SMU moved again, to Wednesday night, due to Hurricane Ian

For the second time this week, UCF's conference opener with SMU has been rescheduled.

The Knights (3-1) will instead host the Mustangs (2-2) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. Both programs have a bye week set for Oct. 8, though UCF hosts Temple the following Thursday evening.

ESPN's Pete Thamel first reported the news Friday. The game will be televised on ESPN2, per a release sent by the American Athletic Conference.

On Tuesday, the American Athletic Conference announced the game would move from its originally scheduled 3:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff to 1 p.m. Sunday, broadcast on one of the ESPN networks.

However, Hurricane Ian delivered record amounts of rainfall and catastrophic flood damage throughout Central Florida. More than 2.6 million people were without power statewide as of 1 p.m. Thursday, per poweroutage.us.
