UCF, Maryland agree to home-and-home football series beginning in 2025
UCF and Maryland have agreed to a home-and-home football series that is scheduled for 2025 and 2028.
The Knights will travel to take on the Terrapins on Aug. 30, 2025, with a return trip to Orlando set for Sept. 9, 2028, at the Bounce House.
“Maryland represents another strong series for UCF against a Big Ten opponent,” said UCF athletics director Terry Mohajir. “These will be attractive intersectional matchups for fans of both programs.”
It’s the third and fourth time these two programs have met, with the schools splitting the two previous games. Maryland handed UCF a 30-24 double-overtime loss on Sept. 17, 2016. The next season the Knights returned the favor with a 38-10 road win on Sept. 23.
Mohajir made it clear that one of his priorities when he took the UCF job in February was to fill out the football schedule. Since then, he’s brokered deals with Florida (2024, 2030 and 2033) and Florida Atlantic (2022, 2025).
“In order to continue to build our emerging brand, you’ve got to play teams,” Mohajir told the Sentinel back in early June. “You have to beat the teams that are the best in the country and in order to do that, you’ve got to play them and sometimes you got to play them on their terms and that’s just the way it is.”
