UCLA routs North Florida Ospreys to end brutal five-game road trip

Seven UCLA players scored during a 28-9 run that closed the first half and the second-ranked Bruins went on to beat the University of North Floridas 98-63 on Wednesday at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

UNF (0-5) ended a rugged road trip to start the season, with four of five games against teams in major conferences. The Ospreys open their home schedule on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Webber.

North Florida stayed within striking distance for the first 10 minutes and trailed 27-24 on Jonathan Aybar’s layup with 9:36 left in the half.

However, Jamie Jaquez Jr., scored nine points to lead the run for the Bruins (4-0), who led 55-33 at halftime.

Jaquez led UCLA with 20 points and added eight rebounds. Johnny Juzang added 17 points.
