UConn’s Dorka Juhasz out for Monday night’s game vs. Xavier with ankle sprain

UConn forward Dorka Juhász will miss Monday night’s game against Xavier due to a right ankle sprain, the program announced.

Juhász will still participate in the Senior Night ceremony to take place before the game, as she and fellow graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal will be honored.

Juhász could be seen wearing a boot during pregame warmups.

Juhász suffered the sprain during the Huskies’ win over DePaul on Saturday. She left the game after going down in the first quarter, but returned late in the first half.

“I didn’t even know if (Juhász) was going to get back in the game,” head coach Geno Auriemma said after the game. “When you see that, first you think the worst and you’re hoping and praying it’s not the worst. And then it’s up to the kids, like, can I handle this? ... She said, ‘Yeah, I want to give it a shot.’”

On the bright side, Azzi Fudd, who has been dealing with a right knee injury for most of the season, participated in warmups for the second game in a row. She has been out of the lineup since Jan. 15.
