UConn football gains commitment from three-star receiver Kareem Burke

The UConn football team picked up a commitment from Kareem Burke, a wide receiver from Raines High in Jacksonville, Florida.

Burke, considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports for the Class of 2022, announced his decision via Twitter on Friday morning, picking UConn from a long list of schools that included Miami, Iowa State, Kansas, Cincinnati and East Carolina.

He appeared in six games for Raines High School last season, gaining 399 receiving yards and three TDs. Burke was honorable mention on the Florida Times-Union’s All-First Coast team in 2020. He is also a state champion in track and field.

UConn, which will play its first season as an independent, begins the 2021 season at Fresno State on Aug. 28.
