UConn men to face Auburn, women will play Minnesota in Bahamas tournament

Jul. 28—The matchups have been set for both UConn's participation in both the men's and women's Battle 4 Atlantis basketball tournaments at the Imperial Arena on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

The UConn women will face Minnesota, coached by former Connecticut Sun great Lindsay Whalen, in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 20, while the men will play Auburn in the first round on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

The women's tournament will run from Nov. 20-22 with the men's tournament to follow on Nov. 24-26.

Times and television information are still to be determined for the women's event, but the men will face Auburn at 2:30 p.m. (ESPN), followed by either Michigan State or Loyola of Chicago on Thanksgiving Day at either noon or 2:30 p.m. The championship game will be played on Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. (ESPN) with consolation round games to follow at 1:30, 4:30 and 7 p.m.

The other side of the men's bracket includes Syracuse vs. VCU and reigning national champion Baylor against Arizona State, coached by UConn head coach Dan Hurley's older brother Bill.

The UConn women, meanwhile, will play either Syracuse or South Florida on Nov. 21 with the finals and consolation games scheduled for Nov. 22. South Carolina will play Buffalo and Oregon will take on Oklahoma on the other side of the bracket.

This is will be the inaugural Battle 4 Atlantis women's tournament while the UConn men will be appearing for the third in 10 years. The Huskies finished third in 2011 and fourth in 2015.
