UConn shuffles, adds former Husky receiver Kashif Moore and more to football coaching staff

Coach Jim Mora announced a series of changes to the UConn football staff, adding former Husky Kashif Moore and giving John Marinelli more responsibility on offense.

Moore, the new receivers coach, played for UConn from 2008-11, with 126 receptions for 1,699 yards and 13 TDs. He played in three bowl games, including the 2011 Fiesta Bowl, catching four passes against Oklahoma.

Moore later coached at Conard High in West Hartford, and at Wesleyan, Cornell and Albany.

Marinelli, former Greenwich coach, worked with tight ends last season. Now he will be pass game specialist and executive director of recruiting for offensive players.

Other additions and changes:

Christian Pace, an analyst last season, will be the tight ends coach. Doug Shearer will continue as special tams coordinator and become the recruiting coordinator for defense. Gordon Sammis will continue as offensive line coach, but also serve as run game coordinator.

Nick Fiacable will be an analyst for special teams, Mike Ryan, 2011 UConn grad, a defensive analyst for linebackers and Tyler Loftus offensive analyst for quarterbacks.

Tim Hicks, who comes from Washington State, will be assistant strength and conditioning coach, and speed coach.

Justin Cumming-Morrow will be director of football operations and Nick Green director of creative content for football.

The recruiting staff will add Chris Satoh as director, focusing on the transfer portal, Andrew McClure, formerly a grad assistant, will become director of recruiting for offense and Hunter Webb, who finished his playing career for UConn last season, be the new director of recruiting operations.
