UConn star Paige Bueckers unveils community basketball court in partnership with StockX

UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers was back in her home state Saturday to unveil a new community basketball court in partnership with StockX and fellow brand ambassador Jamad Fiin.

The court is located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, less than 10 minutes from where Bueckers played high school basketball at Hopkins High School. The project also involved a collaboration with Project Backboard, a nonprofit organization that renovates public basketball courts to “help strengthen communities and improve park safety.”

Bueckers signed a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with StockX in November 2021. She is also signed with Gatorade, Crocs, Bose and Cash App, among others.

The basketball court design was inspired by the personal styles of Bueckers and Fiin. It came to life under the creative direction of StockX art director Lizzie Kassab.

“Paige’s personality is on full display in the colorful design, reflecting her upbeat attitude,” according to a release from StockX. “The wavy lines reflect her ‘go with the flow’ mentality that is the foundation of her resilience and adaptability.”

The motto “Be You. Be Great” is on the center of the court. Bueckers’ father, Bob, says that to her before every game. She won’t be playing in any for some time though, as she tore the ACL in her left knee in early August and will be out for the Huskies’ 2022-23 season.

Bueckers has been busy in recent weeks despite the injury. She made an appearance on ESPN’s “NBA Today” earlier in the week and helped lead a basketball camp after unveiling the court Saturday.

“This is where dreams start,” Bueckers told the crowd. “And with hard work, great faith, you can achieve great things.”
