UConn women’s basketball 2022 signees Ayanna Patterson, Isuneh ‘Ice’ Brady named McDonald’s All-Americans

UConn women’s basketball’s class of 2022 signees Ayanna Patterson and Isuneh “Ice” Brady have been named McDonald’s All-Americans, the organization announced Tuesday.

Patterson, from Fort Wayne, Ind. is representing the East, and Brady, San Diego native is playing for Team West. They will convene with 22 other players for the annual McDonald’s All-American Game on March 29 at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena. The 2020 and ′21 games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patterson, a 6-foot-2 wing, and Brady, a 6-3 post, are ranked No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, in espnW’s recruit rankings. Twenty-four of the top 29 in the espnW 100 were named McDonald’s All-Americans. UConn is one of seven teams, along with Arizona, South Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA, that boasts multiple honorees in this year’s class.

Not including Patterson and Brady, UConn has had 38 players tabbed McDonald’s All-Americans, including eight members of its current roster: Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Christyn Williams, Evina Westbrook (then a Tennessee signee), Aubrey Griffin, Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, Caroline Ducharme and Amari DeBerry.
